Betting UFC Online - Fight for the Troops Ends with a Kos Bomb
by Robby Maddux

UFC Fight Night on Wednesday, Dec. 10 provided online UFC betting fans spectacular Octagon action and the opportunity to make monetary donations to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. It was a special event for a great cause and was an awesome night of MMA betting excitement that was arguably the most brutal and physically furious venues ever seen free on Spike.
The main event was a 170-pound contest that featured Josh "Kos" Koscheck against Yoshiyuki "Zenko" Yoshida. Koscheck, who lost the welterweight No. 1 contender fight to Thiago Alves just a over a month ago at UFC 90, wanted to rebound with an impressive win against Yoshida. As the BetUS UFC odds favorite priced at -240, Kos not only rebounded with an impressive win over the +190 underdog, he did so by showcasing the most devastating knockout of his career.
With Kos having world class wrestling skills, and Yoshida being a fourth degree black belt in judo possessing great throws, ground control, and submission skills, many thought this fight would quickly go to the mat. But the competition never made it that far and the only fighter who went to the ground was Yoshida, as he laid on his back rendered unconscious by a tandem off right hand Kos' bombs, landing at 2:15 of Round 1 that ended the night with a bang, literally.
Both welterweights opened the bout in a feeling out mode, with Yoshida scoring with a few harmless kicks, but was enough to grab Kos' attention. The Crown Coliseum filled with US servicemen and women watched the sports betting favorite start bringing the heat with his trademark right hands just to find his range. Once he found his distance, the shots became delivered with much more bad intent. After landing one that found its mark and severely hurt Yoshida, who remained standing but seemingly out on his feet, a second one landed that sent him down and to bed early.
Yoshida, who remained on the canvas while being tended to by ring-side doctors, was removed from the Octagon on a stretcher as a precautionary measure. He was later treated and released from a local hospital after being treated for a concussion. The win improves Kos to 14-3 and Yoshida drops to 10-3.
The co-main event on Wednesday's card was between the heavily favored Mike ''Quick'' Swick (-400) and underdog Jonathan Goulet (+300) in another 170-pound event. Swick lived up to his nickname making ''Quick'' work of Goulet, scoring a devastating 33 second win via stoppage by referee Dan Miragliotta.
Swick nearly ran to the center of the Octagon to do battle, as the two fighters briefly circled each other, Swick landed a short right that dropped Goulet. The underdog held onto Swick's leg in a feeble effort of trying to remember where he was, but the MMA wagering chalk continued to pour it on and ended the fight with a barrage of punches that nearly knocked the script off Goulet's head scribbled on with a Sharpie. Swick improves to 13-2 with the victory and Goulet falls to 22-10 with one no contest on his record.
Also on the card, Steve Cantwell (-350), made a successful transition into the UFC, submitting Razaak Al-Hassan (+250) in the first round of a great competitive 205-pound contest. Cantwell ups his record to 7-1 with the win; Al-Hassan falls to 7-1 in his first pro defeat.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Tim Credeur (-155) continued to cash for online MMA betting fans investing in Wednesday's favorites with a win over previously unbeaten Nate Loughran (+125). Credeur moves his record to 12-4 with the win; Loughran drops to 9-1.
Lightweight Jim Miller (-125) posted a victory as a last-minute replacement against Matt Wiman (-105), scoring a three round unanimous decision win that broke Wilman’s four fight winning streak. Scores were 30-27 twice and 30-26 for Miller. With the win, Miller improves to 13-1; Wiman falls to 10-4.
If you bet on UFC action and supported the troops and favorites, you had a prosperous all-around evening. The next opportunity to get in on the money-making Octagon excitement comes this Saturday, Dec. 13 in The Ultimate Fighter Finale—Team Nog vs. Team Mir.
