Chris Bosh and Charlie Villanueva Play 1-on-1...on Twitter

If you’re on Twitter these days you’ve probably been noticing more and more athletes using Twitter for fun and personal gain - Ochocinco wants to Tweet live during an NFL game and quite a controversy has arisen from this.

Not to be outdone by this, NBA players Chris Bosh and Charlie Villanueva have made a friendly bet as the two race to become the first to get 50,000 Twitter followers. This is not the first Twitter war and likely won’t be the last, but they’ve really made this one interesting – the loser will have to star in an embarrassing skit of the winner’s choice and put it on Youtube.

If this doesn’t interest you, BetUS has posted odds on the race, perhaps betting on it yourself will make it more interesting.

Currently the lines for each player is at -120, meaning a winning $60 bet on either @ChrisBosh or @CV31 would pay an additional $50.

Their Twitter follower numbers are very close at time of writing, with Villanueva getting a head start, but Bosh has been closing in on him. Making a pick is a tough call right now, but keep an eye on their twitter pages over the next few days, keeping in mind that the odds will be only up for a limited time. The odds are up here, where you can also bet on whether Chad Ochocinco will tweet from the endzone this football season, or if Lance Armstrong will tweet during a race.
