With everything else going on in the world of sports, it’s easy to forget that the NHL is in full swing. Thursday night showcases a bevy of opportunities to get some hockey dollars in your NHL betting account. Here is a quick preview of the best games to make a quick buck on tonight.

New Jersey Devils (+150) vs. Boston Bruins (-170)

7:05 PM ET – Boston, MA
O/U (5 ½)

These two teams split their four game series last year and are both floating around mediocrity so far this season. New Jersey Devils didn’t look very sharp last night as the Sabres walked into New Jersey and handed them a 4-1 loss. The Bruins, on the other hand, have had a few days off since an emotional come from behind win in Ottawa on Saturday night. Down two goals with under a minute and a half remaining, the B’s rallied with a pair of goals from David Krejci and Mark Recchi to send the game into overtime where Patrice Bergeron sniped the winner.

The Devils have been the hottest road team in the league this year with a perfect 5-0 record, so the Boston Bruins will need to gain the momentum early. The fact that the Devils played last night, and lost, while the Bruins have had a few days rest and are coming off an emotional victory, points towards a Bruins win.

Another thing to keep in mind is that New Jersey will likely start backup Yann Danis tonight, who is 0-3 lifetime versus the Bruins.

Despite New Jerseys impressive road start, I like the Bruins to build off their emotional victory Saturday night and take this one 4-2.

The Pick: Boston -1 ½ (+170)

Chicago Blackhawks (-155) vs. Nashville Predators (+135)

8:05 PM ET – Nashville, TN
O/U (5 ½)

These two Central Division rivals are already quite familiar with one another as they will be meeting for the third time tonight in Nashville. The Preds will be looking for some early season revenge as Chicago Blackhawks has taken the first two of their six game season series, 3-1 in Nashville and 2-0 at the United Center.

As you can see by the scores, Nashville Predators hasn’t exactly been lighting the lamp this year. In fact, they only have 21 goals in 11 games so far this season. Yikes. That being said, they managed to pump a few in on Wednesday night as they took out Minnesota 4-3, in Minnesota. It was a big win for the Preds as it snapped a 1-6-1 drought and marked only the second time this season they've scored more than three goals in a game.

The injury bug has bit the Hawks recently as their captain, Jonathan Toews still hasn’t returned to earth after Willie Mitchell leveled him with the best open-ice check so far this season.

The other missing link for the Hawks will be D-man Brent Seabrook is questionable tonight versus the Predators after showing signs of a concussion suffered last Saturday. He will be a game time decision.

If you believe in momentum, then go with the Predators as the Blackhawks still have question marks in net. With a big win under their belts, look for Nashville to bring the noise tonight in Music City.

The Pick: Nashville (+135)
