NFL Week 8 UNDER Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

NFL point spreads have been tightening up throughout the league, but BetUS.com's NFL handicapping experts keep you in the know with this week's power rankings for 'unders'...

1: Denver Broncos (5-1) (LW: 2) Even though HC Josh McDaniel's offense has gotten a ton of accolades for its play this season, the defense has been absolutely dominant. The unit will be put to the test this week against a tough bunch of Ravens.

Up Next: Away @ Ravens

2: Arizona Cardinals (5-1) (LW: 3) Chalk up another 'under' contest for the Cardinals. NFL bettors banking on low scorers in Arizona games have had to sweat lately, as two of its L/3 'totals' have come down to the dying plays of the game. But in the end, the Cards held serve with their backs on their own goal line, preserving both SU victories and 'unders'.

Up Next: Home vs. Panthers

3: Washington Redskins (5-2) (LW: 1) The Skins fought as hard as they could to keep the Monday nighter beneath the number, but when it was all said and done, the offense showed just enough to punch the ball into the end zone one last time after being shut out for the entire second half. Essentially firing the play-caller didn't work, so what's next for owner Dan Snyder?

Up Next: Bye

4: Seattle Seahawks (4-2) (LW: NR) Hopefully the Seaturkies used the bye week to work out their slumping offense. If you throw out a 41-0 outburst against the Jags two weeks ago, Seattle has only averaged 12.3 points per game since Week 1. That had all better change in "Big D," or the Cowboys are going to run the Seahawks out of the Lone Star State.

Up Next: Away @ Cowboys

5: New York Jets (4-3) (LW: 4) Don't blame the Jets' defense for pushing Sunday's game in Oakland past the number. Heck, don't blame the offense either. HC Rex Ryan called a whopping 54 running plays on Sunday, but his backs did too good of a job for the sake of 'under' bettors, as New York rolled up 316 yards in the 38-0 victory.

Up Next: Home vs. Dolphins

6: Buffalo Bills (3-4) (LW: NR) So much for the fancy no-huddle offense that the Bills thought they were running this year. HC Dick Jauron is learning that his best bet may be to rely on his defense, which has now intercepted nine passes in its L/2 games. The Bills have only allowed their L/3 opponents to score a total of 28 points. All three games stayed beneath the number.

Up Next: Home vs. Texans

7: Oakland Raiders (4-3) (LW: 5) 'Under' bettors are sad to see that QB JaMarcus Russell was finally benched for ineffectiveness on Sunday against the Jets. That probably means that he's losing his job any day now. If last week really was the last hurrah for everyone pounding the 'under' train in Oakland games, it's a sin that the defense couldn't hold the game below the number. The offense sure did its job. It doesn't get much better than posting four goose eggs.

Up Next: Away @ Chargers

8: Houston Texans (4-3) (LW: 6) It also seems like a miracle that the Texans have more 'unders' than 'overs' this season. They have scored at least 21 points in every game since Week 1, and their secondary is still atrocious. TE Vernon Davis picked holes through Houston's safeties for the entire second half on Sunday afternoon, and the end result was an 'over' by the hook.

Up Next: Away @ Bills
