NFL Betting Trends - Week 8 OVER Power Poll
by Mike Rose

BetUS Sportsbook presents this week's NFL power rankings for which teams that NFL betting experts have been making money on with 'overs' so far this season...
1: Philadelphia Eagles (5-1) (LW: 3) My, would it have been a big time sin if the MNFer didn't find a way to reach the number after seeing 37 points hit the board in the first half of play. Finally, on the game's final meaningful drive, the Eagles conceded a score to reach the number. HC Andy Reid probably won't mind, but he knows that his offense won't be able to get shut out next week and post a victory against the G-Men.
Up Next: Home vs. Giants
2: San Diego Chargers (4-1-1) (LW: 1) The Chargers had plenty of chances to notch their third straight 'over' contest on Sunday afternoon, but in the end, Kansas City's offense couldn't find enough points. Still, smart shoppers ended with a victory, as the final number pushed on 44. For the second straight week, it seems as though San Diego is going to need to provide the mass majority of the offense if its game is going to surpass the number.
Up Next: Home vs. Raiders
3: Minnesota Vikings (5-2) (LW: 2) It didn't miss by much, but the Vikes and Steelers couldn't quite pull together enough defensive and special teams scores to beat the 'total' on Sunday afternoon. 'Over' bettors should just have been thrilled to have had a shot at the final gun in that one, as three non-offensive fourth quarter TDs made it very interesting.
Up Next: Away @ Packers
4: Baltimore Ravens (4-2) (LW: 5) In an 'under' happy week, the Ravens move up a few spots in the 'over' rankings on their bye. QB Joe Flacco is to thank for the recent run of points, as he has thrown for 1,674 yards and 11 TDs in just six games in his sophomore season. His 'O' will be tested in a big way this Sunday.
Up Next: Home vs. Broncos
5: New York Giants (4-2-1) (LW: 4) The Giants had a chance to push Sunday night's game with the Cards past the number, but three QB Eli Manning interceptions really sealed the deal for both the 'under' and a New York defeat. The string of games with at least 20 points scored stopped at six games to start the season, but the G-Men will hope to get back on the horse next week.
Up Next: Away @ Eagles
6: Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2) (LW: NR) Jacksonville skyrockets up the poll this week courtesy of a ton of games that narrowly missed the number. The Jags have played four of their L/5 past the number, and one of those victories for 'over' bettors came the first weekend of October when Jacksonville beat Tennessee 37-17. Those teams will get it on again this weekend at LP Field.
Up Next: Away @ Titans
7: Miami Dolphins (4-2) (LW: NR) 'Over' bettors loved you, Miami! Not only can the Wildcat seemingly not be stopped right now, but the Fins are having a tough time keeping anyone out of the end zone. The L/3 games for the Dolphins have reached an average of 62 points per game. It's hard to believe that the rematch from a few weeks ago against the Jets will be quite as ridiculous as their 31-27 score line.
Up Next: Away @ Jets
8: Tennessee Titans (4-2) (LW: NR) Since holding the Steelers to just 13 points in Week 1 of the NFL betting season, the Titans have been absolutely atrocious defensively. They've allowed an average of 37.0 points per game in that stretch. For HC Jeff Fischer's sake, hopefully the bye week helped get things back in focus.
Up Next: Home vs. Jaguars
