NFL Betting Trends - Week 5 UNDER Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Even though there have been plenty of offensive fireworks so far in this NFL betting season, not every game has been a barnburner. Check out which teams you should be looking to place ‘under’ bets on with BetUS’s NFL Football ‘under’ power poll this week…

1: Denver Broncos (4-0) (LW: 1) Another week, another 'under' for the Broncos. Give it up for HC Josh McDaniel's defense, which has held its opponents to just 26 points in four games this year. Not only is that the best average in the NFL, but it is also the best total as well, which is impressive considering that there are teams that have only played three games. The test gets a lot tougher this week.

Up Next: Home vs. Patriots

2: New York Jets (3-1) (LW: 2) There was no doubting just how good the Jets' defense was against QB Drew Brees and the Saints on Sunday afternoon. The problem was the offense. Rookie QB Mark Sanchez threw three picks, one of which was returned 99 yards for a TD. All things considered, 'under' bettors still cashed an easy winner.

Up Next: Away @ Dolphins

3: Oakland Raiders (3-1) (LW: 4) Oakland couldn't even find a way to score a touchdown against a Houston defense which has been awful so far this season. It's been over eight quarters since the silver and black found the end zone. There's a good reason that the Raiders are over two-touchdown underdogs in the Meadowlands this weekend.

Up Next: Away @ Giants

4: St. Louis Rams (3-1) (LW: 6) Well, it's really easy to play 'under' games when you don't score any points. Last week's 35-0 blanking at the hands of the Niners was the second time that the "Lambs" have been shutout. The worse news is that there really isn't enough talent on this offense, save RB Steven Jackson, to turn that trend around.

Up Next: Home vs. Vikings

5: Washington Redskins (3-1) (LW: NR) Man, is Washington's offense bad! It's one of just a handful of offenses in the NFL that hasn't put more than 17 points on the board in a game this season. It's not like the schedule hasn't played out well for the Skins either. They've already faced Tampa Bay and Detroit this year. Carolina's defense has to be licking its chops in search of win #1 on the season this week.

Up Next: Away @ Panthers

6: San Francisco 49ers (3-1) (LW: NR) The Niners by far have the best defense in the NFC West, and they may have one of the best units in the NFC. However, once WR Michael Crabtree gets involved in this offense, just arbitrarily betting the 'under' in San Fran games may not become a given anymore.

Up Next: Home vs. Falcons

7: Atlanta Falcons (2-1) (LW: NR) The Falcons took a week off last week, but they're still a solid option for 'under' bettors this year. Though the offense is starting to open up a little bit for second-year QB Matt Ryan, HC Mike Smith would still rather pound his running backs and keep the clock rolling.

Up Next: Away @ 49ers

8: Arizona Cardinals (2-1) (LW: NR) The Cardinals and 'unders' aren't two terms that are usually used synonymously, but this season, they have been. Look for the fun and games for 'under' bettors to get tested this week when the high-flying Arizona offense takes on a similar 'O' from Houston.

Up Next: Home vs. Texans
