NFL Week 9 Power Rankings

Bookmark and Share by Al Simmons

We have just passed the half way mark in the NFL season and the teams to beat are the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts and the Minnesota Vikings.

No one has been able to stop Drew Brees, Peyton Manning or Brett Favre this season and its because they have the weapons around them to excel. Lets hope that they can keep winning in January when it counts.

November is here and this is when we separate the real contenders from the pretenders.

Here are my NFL Week 9 Power Rankings:

  1. New Orleans Saints:  so many weapons, who can stop them?

  2. Indianapolis Colts:  see above.

  3. Minnesota Vikings:  Favre looks 10 years younger.

  4. Denver Broncos: where was that D everybody talked about?

  5. New England Patriots: they’re up to face the Dolphins after a bye week

  6. Cincinnati Bengals:  Cardiac Cats are showing that they belong

  7. Pittsburgh Steelers: will have their hands full against the Broncos on a Monday Night Showdown.

  8. Philadelphia Eagles: how could this team lose against the Raiders?

  9. Dallas Cowboys: a real challenge is yet to come.

  10. Houston Texans: Ryan Moats in but Owen Daniels is lost for the season

  11. Baltimore Ravens: Big D is back.

  12. Arizona Cardinals: talk about being in-consistent.

  13. San Diego Chargers: beating the Raiders is nothing to brag about but at least Tomlinson found the end zone.

  14. New York Giants: if they don’t wake up fast, Dallas and Phily could be get too far to reach.

  15. Atlanta Falcons: too many mistakes in the last two weeks.

  16. Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have the team that Favre has.

  17. Chicago Bears: not sold on the Bears yet.

  18. New York Jets: "Sometimes things just don't make sense," said Rex Ryan.  I bet he is talking about the holes in his special teams unit.

  19. Miami Dolphins: they are a better team than their record says.

  20. San Francisco 49ers: I’ll bet they didn’t know Addai could throw the ball.

  21. Carolina Panthers: Fox let Delhomme play his style and Delhomme finally got Steve Smith the ball.

  22. Buffalo Bills: The Bills allowed more points than they had in their previous three games combined.

  23. Jacksonville Jaguars: stop Chris Johnson that was their only task, they couldn’t even do that.

  24. Seattle Seahawks: Seattle is 2-5 through seven games for the second straight season.

  25. Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell reflects everything that is wrong with this organization.

  26. Tennessee Titans: They won their first game on the fact that Vince Young didn’t make any mistakes and Chris Johnson running for over 200 yards.

  27. Detroit Lions: The Lions have allowed 19 sacks in their last four games. You must protect your QB

  28. Kansas City Chiefs: bye Larry Johnson and hello Jamal Charles

  29. St. Louis Rams: The Rams snapped their 17-game losing streak…against Detroit.

  30. Cleveland Browns: GM is gone…are Mangini, Anderson and Quinn next?

  31. Washington Redskins: traveling to Atlanta is not a good way to come back from a bye week.

  32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: turning to their 3rd QB this year…they should bring Jeff Garcia back.
