NFL Week 8 Review and Week 9 Preview

Vikings 38 Packers 26
I told BetUS NFL bettors to forget the hype surrounding this game and take the clearly better Minnesota Vikings to win outright. Now the Vikings have a week to get even healthier with a bye in Week 9 while the Packers will get back in the win column against lowly Tampa Bay.

Dallas 38 Seattle 10
Ho-hum. Let’s not get too carried away with the Dallas Cowboys’ win over a pitiful Seahawks team here NFL gamblers. The Boys get a real test in Week 9 as they hit the road to take on the high-flying Eagles.

Rams 17 Lions 10
This is exactly why I said the Lions should have traded their No.1 draft pick for either multiple picks or players that could help right away. Simply put, they’ve got too many holes for strong-armed rookie quarterback Matt Stafford to make a difference. Now the kid will be running for his life for two more seasons. I’m glad St. Louis Rams’ head coach Steve Spagnuolo got a win in this contest but I’m not impressed. St. Louis gets a bye next week while the Lions visit the struggling Seahawks.

Texans 31 Bills 10
The explosive Houston Texans routed the Bills as predicted and now take on the Indianapolis Colts in what should be a thriller in Week 9 while the Bills have a Week 9 bye.

Bears 30 Browns 6
I could crack another joke here, but its just to easy with the Browns. Thankfully, they won’t take the field in Week 9 while the Chicago Bears will have to stop the explosive Arizona Cardinals this coming Sunday.

Ravens 30 Broncos 7
I absolutely nailed the NFL parlay pick here, saying the Under would play out as Baltimore Ravens won outright at home – and that’s exactly what happened. Baltimore will try to avoid a slip-up at Cincinnati in Week 9 while the Broncos have a thriller scheduled for Monday night at home against the defending-champion Steelers.

Eagles 40 Giants 17
I picked the Philadelphia Eagles to win at home and hand the G-Men their third consecutive loss, but jeez, I certainly didn’t see this coming. Philly has another tough NFC home date against the Cowboys in Week 9 while the Giants should be able to get back in the win column at home against the underachieving Chargers.

Dolphins 30 Jets 25
This game turned out to be a loss for me as the Miami Dolphins bounced back from their shocking Week 7 loss to beat New York for the second time this season. The J-E-T-S are off next week while the Fins will get a real test a New England in Week 9.

Colts 18 49ers 14
I told bettors the 49ers would cover the spread here and they sure did. Now the Niners have an excellent shot to win at home against Tennessee in Week 9 while Indianapolis Colts could be in big trouble with the explosive Texans coming to town next week.
