NFL Monday Morning Quarterback Week 8
by Al Simmons

Damn, wasn’t that a great weekend of Football??? Two of my biggest picks this weekend came through. Brett Favre completed his “comeback” by beating the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau field 38-26. And the Dolphins upset the Jets in NY 30-25. Gentlemen the wildcat offense is for real.
My game of the year lived up to all my expectations from the beginning to end. Brett Favre was amazing in a huge game once again (244 yards, 4 TD) but don’t kid yourself Aaron Rogers’ numbers were pretty good too (287 yards, 3 TD). However at the end everybody will remember the he wear’s number 4.
Favre is playing so well at the age of 40 and beat Rodgers simply because of one reason. He has the best team surrounding him than any other quarterback (except for maybe Drew Brees) in the NFL. He has Bernard Berrian, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice, Visanthe Shiancoe and Jared Allen.
I am not sure there is any other game I want to talk about from this weekend. But I will have to give props to Ted Ginn Jr for is outstanding play out of Tony Sparano’s dog house. Ginn was benched in favor of rookie Brian Hartline.
Ginn made all the difference on special teams by returning kickoffs of 100 and 101 yards for scores, both in the same quarter.
Other games like Baltimore vs. Denver or Seattle vs. Dallas were decided by long returns on kickoffs.
On the other hand don’t read too much into the Giants and Broncos losses. Consider that NY has a Super Bowl winning QB and coach, don’t expect the Giants to keep losing.
Denver just came out slow and Baltimore set the tone of the game with the open play sack on Kyle Orton. Expect Denver to come back strong next week.
Teams that looked better than I expected: Eagles, 49ers, Titans, Panthers and the Rams.
Teams that looked worse: Colts, Bills, Giants and Cardinals.
