College Football Betting Tips - UNDER Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Even though there have been plenty of offensive fireworks so far in this season, not every game has been a barnburner. Check out which teams you should be looking to place ‘under’ bets against the college football point spreads on with BetUS’s NCAA Football ‘under’ power poll this week…

1: Oklahoma Sooners (7-0) (LW: 1) The Sooners just keep on playing games nowhere near the posted number. For some unknown reason, the oddsmakers keep lining OU 'totals' in the 50s even though they haven't played a game against an FCS opponent into the 50s yet this year. Maybe they'll learn against the Wildcats this week.

Up Next: Home vs. Kansas State

2: Tulsa Golden Hurricane (7-0) (LW: 2) The Golden Hurricane have another team that no one has figured out to place a line on yet this year. The average points per game scored in a Tulsa game this year is just 49.5 points per game. The lowest posted 'total' in one of its games was 55.5. If you do the remedial math, you can see how they’re perfect for under bettors in ’09.

Up Next: Home vs. SMU

3: Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-1) (LW: 4) Last week, we warned that the Huskers may be in line for another dud against Iowa State, and boy did they post a dud. The defense had a great game, as they held the Cyclones out of the end zone, but eight turnovers, four of which came inside the ISU 5 did in both Nebraska and 'over' bettors.

Up Next: Away @ Baylor

4: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-1) (LW: 5) The Rutgers/Army game was as ugly as advertised, as the final score on Friday night was 27-10. Still, the Scarlet Knights are a huge question mark this year, as they really haven't played well against any opponents of any merit, so it's hard to know how legitimate this 6-1 record for the 'under' really is.

Up Next: Away @ Connecticut

5: Missouri Tigers (6-1) (LW: 6) After putting up at least 31 points in their first four games, the Tigers' offense has totally wilted under the pressure of playing the big boys in the Big XII. They've only scored a total of 36 points in their L/3 games in conference play, but in fairness, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Texas is about as hard of a schedule as you can play.

Up Next: Away @ Colorado

6: Air Force Falcons (6-1) (LW: 7) Even an overtime game can't grab a victory for 'over' bettors in Air Force games. In this wild stretch of five straight 'under' contests that really haven't even threatened the number, the Falcons have had two games go to OT. Now, they've got to travel up the road to visit the Rams in what could be another low scorer.

Up Next: Away @ Colorado State

7: Marshall Thundering Herd (6-1) (LW: 9) Marshall's defense has played really well since the first two weeks of the season. Starting with the Bowling Green game on September 19th, the Herd haven't allowed a single opponent surpass 24 points in a game. There's a reason they're 3-1 in C-USA play and are poised to conquer a weak C-USA Eastern division.

Up Next: Away @ UCF

8: UCF Knights (4-1-1) (LW: 3) It's a shame that UCF had to drop this far in the 'under' poll, but there are just so many other teams that are red hot for low scorers in the country right now - it isn't even funny. Don't blame the Knights' defense for the fact that this week's game eclipsed the number, because they held the Owls to just seven points. The offense dropped 49 though on an absolutely pathetic Owls defense…

Up Next: Home vs. Marshall

And the rest…

9: Florida Gators (5-1) (LW: 12)

10: Army Black Knights (6-2) (LW: 11)

11: Penn State Nittany Lions (6-2) (LW: 10)

12: Arizona State Sun Devils (5-1) (LW: 13)

13: Ohio State Buckeyes (5-2-1) (LW: 8)

14: Utah Utes (5-1-1) (LW: 14)

15: Illinois Fighting Illini (5-1-1) (LW: 15)
