College Football Betting Insider - Best OVER Teams

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Now that the college football betting season is heading into its seventh week of play, check out how BetUS stacks up the best ‘over’ teams in the country through six weeks…

1: Duke Blue Devils (5-0) (LW: 1) Last week, we hyped up QB Thaddeus Lewis as one of the best gunslingers in the ACC, and he surely didn't disappoint against NC State. Duke's quarterback went 40/50 and threw for five touchdowns against a Wolfpack defense that simply had no answers. For now, the 'over' train continues to roll along.

Up Next: Bye

2: Auburn Tigers (5-1) (LW: 4) OC Gus Malzahn's offense finally met its match on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville when the Hogs ran wild on the Tigers' 'D'. Still, even though it was just the third time this year that Auburn failed to reach 40 points on the season, the game still made it past the number by the most slender of margins.

Up Next: Home vs. Kentucky

3: Toledo Rockets (5-1) (LW: 7) The people responsible for making the college football point spreads are continuously goofing with the Rockets. Last week was the first time that oddsmakers lined one of their 'totals' in the 60s, but it still wasn't nearly enough. Toledo's 58-26 loss easily eclipsed the number. For some unknown reason, there's another sub-60 number on the board again this week.

Up Next: Home vs. Northern Illinois

4: North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-1) (LW: 8) Once upon a time, the Wolfpack were considered a trendy pick amongst college football betting pundits to win the ACC. Now that the Dookies dropped 49 points on them... not so much. 'Over' bettors don't mind though, as all five of NCSU's games have flown past the number since that 7-3 snoozer on the opening night of the season against South Carolina.

Up Next: Away @ Boston College

5: North Texas Mean Green (4-1) (LW: 11) Since beating Ball State 20-10 in Week 1 of the season, the Mean Green have gotten absolutely no defense whatsoever. They've allowed 159 points in just four games, and as a result, their games have been flying 'over' the 'total' with ease. Last week's 38-34 loss to ULL proved to be three scores better than the posted number of 53. This week's 59 against FAU is the highest 'total' of the season that UNT has faced.

Up Next: Home vs. Florida Atlantic

6: West Virginia Mountaineers (3-1) (LW: 1) Don't blame RB Noel Devine and QB Jarrett Brown for WVU's first 'under' game of the season last week. The duo led the Mountaineers' offense to 34 points and 385 yards against the Orange. Not every game is played against the 'Cuse's atrocious offense, so the 'overs' for this team are bound to start picking up again.

Up Next: Home vs. Marshall

7: UNLV Rebels (4-1) (LW: 12) Umm... UNLV defense... Where have you gone? Two weeks ago, the Rebs conceded 773 yards and 63 points to a Nevada team that had struggled offensively for most of the season. Last week was a marked improvement. They only gave up 611 yards and 59 points to BYU.

Up Next: Home vs. Utah

8: Florida International Golden Panthers (4-1) (LW: 13) The Golden Panthers' 117th ranked defense in the land is absolutely what is to blame for the fact that they are 4-1 for 'over' bettors this season. It's not like the offense has struggled to put points on the board lately, though. FIU has scored at least 31 points in three straight games.

Up Next: Home vs. Troy

And the rest…

9: Virginia Cavaliers (3-1) (LW: 14)

10: Alabama Crimson Tide (4-2) (LW: 3)

11: Kansas Jayhawks (3-1) (LW: NR)

12: Florida State Seminoles (4-2) (LW: NR)

13: Wisconsin Badgers (4-2) (LW: 5)

14: Maryland Terrapins (4-2) (LW: NR)

15: California Golden Bears (3-2) (LW: 15)
