College Football Betting - Big 10 Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

The Big Ten had a mixed bag of NCCAF football betting results in the ninth week of CFB wagering. Find out what it all means for your future college football spread wagers with this week’s BetUS Big Ten Power Poll…

1: Iowa Hawkeyes (6-2 ATS, 9-0 SU) (LW: 1) No one knows how Iowa did it, but in spite of the fact that QB Ricky Stanzi threw five picks, the Hawkeyes found a way to score 28 points in the 4th quarter to cover the spread against Indiana. HC Kirk Ferentz knows that a victory in two weeks at Ohio State will certainly send his team to Pasadena for one of the biggest games of the year to kick off 2010. But the Hawkeyes aren't going to want to overlook Northwestern at home this weekend.

Up Next: Home vs. Northwestern (-17.5)

2: Ohio State Buckeyes (7-2 ATS, 7-2 SU) (LW: 2) Yawn. Another game, another cover for Ohio State, who has now rolled off covers in seven of its L/8 overall. The Buckeyes pounded New Mexico State 45-0, and can still reach the Rose Bowl. The schedule is awfully difficult these next three weeks, beginning with a visit to Happy Valley.

Up Next: Away @ Penn State (+3.5)

3: Indiana Hoosiers (5-3 ATS, 4-5 SU) (LW: 3) If Indiana ultimately doesn't go bowling, boy, are these L/2 weeks going to sting. After blowing a huge lead against Northwestern two weeks ago, they collapsed under pressure with another miserable 4th quarter against Iowa on Saturday. As if the 'L' wasn't bad enough, Hoosiers bettors suffered a catastrophic defeat when they failed to cover the 17-point spread as well.

Up Next: Home vs. Wisconsin (+11)

4: Penn State Nittany Lions (5-4 ATS, 8-1 SU) (LW: 6) Is HC Joe Paterno still kicking himself for losing that game at home to Iowa or what? After watching some of the carnage in the Top-10 in recent weeks, the Nittany Lions could still be sitting in the #3 or #4 spot in the country right now. Now, the best PSU can do is put up an impressive victory against Ohio State and hope to become the top one-loss team in the country. Penn State has covered five straight spreads since losing to Iowa.

Up Next: Home vs. Ohio State (-3.5)

5: Michigan Wolverines (5-4 ATS, 5-4 SU) (LW: 4) After starting off 4-0 and having a gimme game against Delaware State, the Wolverines are facing the serious prospects of not qualifying for a bowl game for a second straight season. They were dumped 38-13 in Champagne on Saturday afternoon, and probably will have to beat Purdue in order to reach that crucial six-win plateau.

Up Next: Home vs. Purdue (-3.5)

6: Wisconsin Badgers (4-4 ATS, 6-2 SU) (LW: 8) Once again, HC Brett Bielema's club is going bowling after the Badgers trounced Purdue 37-0 on Saturday. Wiscy still has a very reasonable chance to reach ten wins, as it should be favored in the rest of its contests. But be warned, Indiana is hungry for victories right now after choking a pair late each of the last two weeks.

Up Next: Away @ Indiana (-11)

And the rest…

7: Purdue Boilermakers (4-5 ATS, 3-6 SU) (LW: 5)

8: Minnesota Golden Gophers (4-5 ATS, 5-4 SU) (LW: 9)

9: Michigan State Spartans (3-5 ATS, 4-5 SU) (LW: 7)

10: Illinois Fighting Illini (2-6 ATS, 2-6 SU) (LW: 11)

11: Northwestern Wildcats (2-6 ATS, 5-4 SU) (LW: 10)
