NBA Rumor Mill - Rasheed Could Rejuvenate Celtics
by Tim Furious

Boston has had its head in the toilet after getting gut-punched by the Orlando Magic in last year’s NBA playoffs. Rajon Rondo and GM Danny Ainge are engaged in a bitter feud over Aing’es scything comments about Rondo’s “limited potential”. KG’s knees are a huge question mark. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen aren’t getting any younger. The Celtics, in short, need some big help.
And they’re swinging for the fences in the free-agent market by gunning after Rasheed Wallace. In his career, Rasheed has been a 15-7 kind of guy, and his fierce leadership and competitiveness have made him a big name guy. His versatility has been coveted and revered in the league. From his shutdown defense, to his unbelievable shooting range, the 6-foot-11 forward has a lot to offer.
When he came from Portland to Detroit, he made the Pistons instant contenders. Could he do the very same for Boston?
Ainge and the Boston Three Party would enjoy the presence of five potential All-Stars should they sign Rasheed, and Danny Ainge would secure his job given his recent breakdown with Rondo. Imagine a lineup of Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Wallace and Garnett with a solid bench of Perkins, House and Big Baby. Scary, isn’t it? What’s even scarier is the combination of Rasheed and KG playing side-by-side. Though they may be getting up there in age, the KG and Sheed remain perhaps the most intimidating big men in the game.
Shaq went to join forces with LeBron in Cleveland. Vince Carter is joining Dwight Howard in Orlando. Boston had to do something to stay competitive. They’re gunning after Wallace, and if they get him, the Boston betting faithful certainly have lots to be excited about come the NBA betting season.
