The Boys are BACK - All State 400 at The Brickyard

NASCAR betting travels to Indianapolis for the All State 400 at The Brickyard on Saturday. The All State 400 at The Brickyard is easily one of the most prestigious races on the NASCAR circuit for the simple fact that it’s held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The BetUS odds makers have installed Jimmie Johnson as the favorite. That’s for good reason as Johnson has two victories at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and one victory in this race.

As always, Jimmie, who’s ranked 2nd in the NASCAR Power Rankings, isn’t the only driver that gamblers should pay attention to.

Let’s take a look at some of the drivers with a chance to win this Saturday’s All State 400 at The Brickyard.

NASCAR: All State 400 at The Brickyard

1. Jimmie Johnson +500 - - Johnson won this race last year and could do it again this year after his 8th place finish in the LifeLock.com 400 last week. Jimmie hasn’t finished first in a race in a while. It’s about time he gets back into the winner circle. There isn’t a better place to do that than in Indianapolis and on a track he is very familiar with.

2. Tony Stewart +600 - - Smoke’s two victories at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway says that he has a very good chance of winning his 3rd race in 2009. The fact that he is driving well enough for almost an automatic top 5 finish each week should give gamblers confidence that a win in this race isn’t out of the question.

3. Jeff Gordon +700 - - Four victories at the track makes Gordon a logical contender. He bounced back big time in the LifeLock.com 400 last week when he finished 2nd. If Gordon’s car is in good shape, he too could take home the trophy.

4. Mark Martin +700 - - Martin has never won at Indianapolis, but he was just awesome last week at Chicagoland in the LifeLock.com 400. If his car is as fast this week as it was last week, then he can put together back to back victories in this. He’s a definite player because Chevrolet has won 10 out of the last 15 contests at The Brickyard and Martin drives a Chevrolet.

5. Kurt Busch +1200 - - Busch faces another track, like Chicagoland last week, where he just hasn’t had much success. Eventually, he’s going to break through at one of these tracks and take a victory away from Stewart and the Hendrick Boys. That could be this week.

6. Kasey Kahne +1500 - - Kahne has been hot lately with a victory, a 5th place finish and a 3rd place finish in 3 out of his last 4 races. He might have an upward climb, like Busch, because, like Busch, he drives a Dodge and Indianapolis, for some reason, favors the Chevrolet cars. Then again, Kahne could be ready to win another race. One thing’s for ruse, he’s starting to have more success in the Budweiser car this year than Jr. had in the past few years.

Best Long Shot

Jeff Burton +6000 - - Burton finished 37th last week in the LifeLock.com 400 because of an accident. He’s never won at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He hasn’t won yet this year. Why, then, do I believe he has a good shot in this race? Call it the law of averages. Burton finished 3rd in last year’s Chase. He’s going to get it going sooner or later. At 60 to 1, I might be willing to bet it’s sooner.
