MLB Betting - Hottest UNDER Teams

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

The dog days of summer are almost over, but there are still plenty of chances to cash winning ‘under’ tickets in the majors. Check out this week’s list of the best ‘under’ teams in baseball over the L/5 days…

(Rank) (Team) (O/U Record) (O/U Record in L/5)

1. Milwaukee Brewers (71-63-3) (0-5 in L/5) - Can you say, “power outage?” The Brew Crew has lost five of their L/6 games, and the offense is clearly to blame. The pitching staff has only allowed more than four runs once in Milwaukee’s L/7 overall, but the bats haven’t topped that four-run barrier once since September 1 st. It’s never a good sign when you only score ten runs on a six-game home stand, though at least the Miller Park faithful were treated to one of the cooler walk-off home run celebrations of all-time when 1B Prince Fielder blasted the game-winning dinger against the Giants on Sunday. However, what Milwaukee’s fans didn’t know was that Fielder’s walk-off antics causing the whole team to fall down was a sign of things to come for a lousy offense.

2. Atlanta Braves (58-73-7) (0-5 in L/5) - Much like the Brewers, the Braves have totally lost their offense, and it came at an awful time of the season. Atlanta was still firmly in the race for both the NL East and NL Wild Card slots, but thanks to the fact that the offense has failed to score more than two runs in a game in almost a week, those playoff aspirations are pretty well shot. The final straw was probably when closer Rafael Soriano wasted starter Tommy Hanson’s eight shutout innings by giving up two in the ninth to hand Atlanta a 2-1 defeat in Houston. Hanson and fellow SPs Jair Jurrjens and Javier Vazquez have got to sue for lack of run support. The highest ERA amongst the three of them is Vazquez’s 3.06, and the trio is only a combined 31-22 on the season.

3. Cincinnati Reds (53-78-7) (0-5 in L/5) - The Reds haven’t played an ‘over’ contest since September 1 st. They’re now a perfect 7-0 for ‘under’ bettors after last night’s third straight ‘under’ affair with the Colorado Rockies. Once again, the offense is the biggest problem, as Cincinnati is one of just three teams in baseball that don’t average at least four runs per game. A string of 21 straight innings without scoring more than one run was finally snapped in the eighth inning of last night’s game. The pitching staff hasn’t given up more than two runs in an inning in over eight games. Still, thanks to an offense that hasn’t nearly reached the potential that its talent suggests, manager Dusty Baker should be getting the axe for yet another season in Cincy destined to finish below .500.

And the rest…

4. Minnesota Twins (61-71-7) (0-4-1 in L/5)

5. New York Mets (62-68-8) (1-4 in L/5)
