MLB Betting - Hottest OVER Teams
by Mike Rose

‘Over’ teams have been hard to find lately, but they’re out there! Check out this week’s list of the best run-producing teams in the bigs over the L/5 days with BetUS Sportsbook’s “Who’s Hot”…
(Rank) (Team) (O/U Record) (O/U Record in L/5)
1: Pittsburgh Pirates (60-62-6) (3-2 in L/5) Give it up for the Pittsburgh pitching staff! The squad has only held one opponent under four runs in its L/13. In that stretch, the Bucs have averaged giving up a whopping 6.69 runs per game, and the team is just 1-12. What’s worse is that they really aren’t hitting the ball either.
They’ve only scored more than five runs in a game three times on this massive losing streak. Want an even more impressive stat? Since July 4 th, the Pirates are just 3-24 on the road! In those 27 road games, they’ve averaged giving up an even 6.0 runs per game, while being held to two runs or less in 15 of those 27. Guess where next week’s games are all going to be played? Pittsburgh Pirates: Rebuilding since 1992.
2: Florida Marlins (73-59-7) (3-2 in L/5) The Fish continue to keep modest amounts of pressure on both the Phillies in the NL East and the Rockies and Giants in the NL Wild Card race thanks to their offense. The unit has plated at least four runs in seven straight games, and Florida is 6-1 in those seven. SS Hanley Ramirez has very quietly strung together hits in his L/6 games since getting into a dispute with 2B Dan Uggla.
He’s still probably going to finish second in the MVP voting to St. Louis’ Albert Pujols, though. Ramirez is batting .353, and he’ll probably have 25 homers, 100 runs, 100 ribbies, and 30 stolen bases by the time the season is over. Still, he’ll need to be fantastic for the Fish to close this gap with the number of days left in the season fleeting quickly.
3: Oakland Athletics (67-68-2) (3-2 in L/5) Oakland’s run of strong offensive performances came to an end with a 4-3 extra innings defeat at the hands of the White Sox. Still, the squad has scored an average of 6.22 runs per game in its L/9 overall. The ‘over’ has cashed in six of those nine games. It’s amazing that the Athletics are producing as many runs as they are, because they have only hit 118 homers on the season, the fourth worst mark in baseball. DH Jack Cust is the only player on the team that is going to reach the 25 HR plateau on the season (he’s at 21 now). The other offensive categories aren’t impressive either.
No one may even reach 80 RBIs this year (C Kurt Suzuki leads the team with 69), no one is going to sniff 100 runs (Cust leads with 73), no one that is going to qualify for the batting title is going to hit anywhere near .300 (2B Adam Kennedy is hitting .282), and no one’s OPS is going to crack .800 (Cust, .764). Still, the A’s are finding ways to beat low ‘totals’ right now.
And the rest…
4: Cleveland Indians (68-64-7) (3-2 in L/5)
5: Texas Rangers (48-84-7) (3-2 in L/5)
