Betting Tips for MLB Sharps - Hottest OVER Teams
by Mike Rose

‘Over’ teams have been hard to find lately, but they’re out there! Check out this week’s list of the best run-producing teams in the bigs over the L/5 days with BetUS Sportsbook’s “Who’s Hot”…
(Rank) (Team) (O/U Record) (O/U Record in L/5)
1: San Francisco Giants (60-74-9) (5-0 in L/5) Though this wicked five-game ‘over’ run began with two miserable pitching performances, the San Francisco offense has plated 26 runs over the L/3 days to keep the Giants in the thick of the playoff hunt. The season was effectively resuscitated with back-to-back eight-run victories over the Rockies to draw back to within 2.5 games of the NL Wild Card lead. Even the division lead doesn’t feel like it’s totally out of the question, especially with three games coming up in Dodgertown over the weekend. After that, there isn’t a playoff team left in the bunch on the Giants’ schedule, so if there’s a run left in them, now’s a great time to try to roll off a number of victories. This offensive jolt was a huge boost for a team that averages just 4.04 runs per game, the 26 th best mark in the majors.
2: Toronto Blue Jays (71-69-5) (5-0 in L/5) Toronto hasn’t been laying down for anyone lately, and even though it isn’t playing fantastic baseball, it sure is being annoying to some solid teams with playoff aspirations. The good news for manager Cito Gaston is that his Blue Jays have scored an average of 6.2 runs per game in their L/5 outings. The bad news is that they have allowed an average of 5.4 runs. All of his starting pitchers have gotten knocked around to an extent, even RHP Roy Halladay, who allowed 11 hits and two runs in six innings yesterday, but was good enough to win his 15 th game of the season in Yankee Stadium. The Jays have very quietly blasted 177 home runs this season, the sixth best mark in the majors.
3: Detroit Tigers (61-78-4) (5-0 in L/5) If these L/8 games are any indicator, the Tigers are in a boat load of trouble no matter whether they reach the playoffs or not. It’s not that allowing at least five runs in seven of their L/8 is disturbing, it’s that all of those games have come against either Kansas City or Toronto. As a result, Detroit’s baseball betting fans haven’t been happy either, as they’ve dipped below the break-even line with a 2-6 mark and $793 worth of losses to account for since September 8 th. Once upon a time, the prospects of throwing SPs Edwin Jackson, Justin Verlander, Rick Porcello, and Jarrod Washburn in the playoffs looked really scary, but considering how strong the rotations for both the Yankees and Red Sox look, Detroit is in trouble. Don’t even be so sure that the playoffs are a lock yet either. Both Chicago and Minnesota are still within striking distance, and all but one of their L/4 series are against those two clubs.
And the rest…
4: Baltimore Orioles (69-69-6) (4-0-1 in L/5)
5: Los Angeles Dodgers (62-72-11) (4-1 in L/5)
