MLB BETTING – AL $$$ Power Poll through 9/13

With just a few weeks remaining in the MLB betting season, check out how BetUS Sportsbook stacks up the top money teams around the American League!

1) Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (86-56, +$2,338) (5-1, +$376 LW) (LW: 1) Last week, the Halos probably put enough distance between themselves and the Rangers to assure themselves of the AL West crown. This week, they’ll have a huge chance to impact the Wild Card race with an atrociously difficult road trip.

On Deck: @ Red Sox @ Rangers

2) Texas Rangers (80-62, +$2,068) (4-2, +$133 LW) (LW: 2) The Rays may have shriveled down the stretch, but give it up for the Rangers, who continue to stand toe-to-toe with the Red Sox in the AL Wild Card race. Finishing up this home stand in a strong manner is critical, because there are only three more games in Arlington left on the schedule after this week is over.

On Deck: vs. Athletics, vs. Angels

3) Boston Red Sox (83-59, +$1,312) (5-0, +$500 LW) (LW: 5) Rain, rain, go away! The Sox have had all sorts of problems trying to complete games thanks to Mother Nature, and the end result may ultimately force them to play a few games after the regular season schedule has finished. That could put a real damper on Boston’s chances of success in the playoffs - assuming it gets there.

On Deck: vs. Angels, @ Orioles

4) New York Yankees (92-52, +$915) (3-2, -$320 LW) (LW: 3) My, is money easy come, easy go with the Yankees! After losing back-to-back games at home as -300 or better favorites against the Orioles, New York bettors took a huge hit. At least they know that the AL East and the best record in the American League are probably already assured.

On Deck: vs. Blue Jays, @ Mariners

5) Seattle Mariners (74-69, +$793) (2-3, -$28 LW) (LW: 4) If Seattle wasn’t already out of it, a five-game losing skid really settled it all. Still, for a team that was amongst the worst in baseball last season, the Mariners should be proud of their ’09 efforts. The second to last home stand of the season is this week.

On Deck: vs. White Sox, vs. Yankees

6) Detroit Tigers (76-66, -$25) (1-5, -$733 LW) (LW: 6) Um… Detroit? What happened this week? A once insurmountable looking AL Central lead over the White Sox and Twins has shrunk to 5.5 games thanks to the Tigers’ miserable week. There’s still seven to play with Minnesota and six with Chicago, so manager Jim Leyland had better get his boys playing on the up and up in a hurry.

On Deck: vs. Royals, @ Twins

7) Oakland Athletics (64-78, -$201) (3-2, +$248 LW) (LW: 8) Oakland largely crippled any chances the Twins had of making the playoffs last weekend, and now it can do the same in Texas to start this week. A’s fans have a lot to look forward to in 2010 with them closing ’09 out in style.

On Deck: @ Rangers, vs. Indians

8) Chicago White Sox (71-73, -$415) (2-3, -$132 LW) (LW: 7) The Tigers have left the door cracked open for Chicago to make a huge comeback to steal the AL Central crown. The schedule is incredibly manageable from here on out, so those six games left with Detroit could really make a big difference.

On Deck: @ Mariners, vs. Royals

And the rest…

9) Minnesota Twins (71-72, -$871) (2-4, -$300 LW) (LW: 9)
10) Tampa Bay Rays (72-71, -$1,190) (0-5, -$500 LW) (LW: 10)
11) Baltimore Orioles (58-84, -$1,385) (2-3, +$240 LW) (LW: 12)
12) Toronto Blue Jays (65-78, -$1,739) (4-2, +$281 LW) (LW: 13)
13) Cleveland Indians (61-81, -$1,938) (1-5, -$426 LW) (LW: 11)
14) Kansas City Royals (57-86, -$2,064) (5-1, +$561 LW) (LW: 14)
