And then there were Four - (1) North Carolina vs. (3) Villanova

The last time these two teams played, UNC managed to squeeze a one-point victory over the Wildcats. Granted, that was nearly four years ago. UNC is pegged as a reasonable favorite against the Wildcats, who have kind of surprised the college betting crews by making it to the Final Four. Now they have to prove how good they really are by taking on whom I see as the best team in college bar none.

The Tar Heels have been stomping mud holes all over teams in the last four games. They’ve covered, won and proven that they are worthy of that championship. With two more games to go this weekend, Tyler Hansbrough may achieve the ultimate if he can get past the Wildcats, who are 14-7 ATS in their last 21 games.

The Tar Heels are undefeated in March Madness, punching the UNDER in 3 of 4 games by completely shutting down the opposition. Villanova may have spent their collective load in the Best Damn Game of March Madness against Pittsburgh, where they won in the final seconds.

That’s the problem I have with Villanova. They won the last game on passion and momentum, and they won’t have that against UNC. Ty Lawson and Tyler Hansbrough are simply too dominant at their positions. Look at Hansbrough for goodness sake. Outclassed in athleticism, he undressed Blake Griffin in front of a national audience. With him as the anchor of a well balanced team that executes far better than any other team I’ve seen in this tournament, my money is on UNC.
