Poker Tips - Know your limit!!!

Poker players are like water, they make more progress when they take the path of least resistance. For whatever reason, there will be players who cannot play certain types of poker, or they cannot operate effectively beyond certain limits. Maybe they cannot accept more than a certain number of beats.

What this underlines is that certain people can do certain things but this does not mean that everyone can. It takes more than just having a large bankroll and having tons of ability to play high-stakes poker. It takes courage and the ability to be able to take some huge hits and still keep coming back.

Even if you have the courage, online poker can still get to you. It’s rather like warfare, you can be the toughest hardest marine in the army but if you see enough suffering and death in war then it is going to have a serious effect on you at some stage.

Some people are lucky in that they can just shake certain things off, nothing seems to get to them. But most of us don’t fall into that category and we each have our limits of what we can do and what we cannot do. In poker, part of the process of being able to make money lays in knowing what you cannot do and where your weaknesses are.

If you can eliminate or side step the areas where you are weak then this allows you to be able to find and locate your strengths far better. It took me several years to realise just how limit hold ‘em didn’t suit my personality. Poker tournaments were the same as my levels of concentration were never good enough. But when you tap into the things that you cannot do then the way to making money suddenly gets a whole lot clearer.
